Choosing this shrub means introducing a beautiful North American native to your landscape. Its dwarf size makes it perfect for smaller spaces or as a colorful accent in larger gardens. The Invincibelle Mini Mauvette is not only visually stunning but also remarkably cold hardy, blooming on new wood which ensures delightful summer flowers even in cold zones. Enhance your yard with this charming shrub that brings a lively burst of color to your planting palette.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with well-drained soil. In cold climates, plant in full sun for more blooms. In warm climates, plant in morning sun and afternoons shade to prevent heat stress and wilting. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Gently place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil and spread a 3’ thick layer of mulch to help retain moisture. Water thoroughly to remove air pockets.
2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, hydrangeas need moist soil to prevent drought stress and to promote reblooming. Avoid water logged or soggy soil.
3. Pruning: Prune in late winter to early spring before new growth begins. Prune the plant back by one third and remove any dead or damaged wood.
4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote healthy foliage and blooms. Avoid excessive fertilization, as this can lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of flowers.
