Vivid pink color for sunny spaces
Vibrant pink bracts surround small white flowers, creating bold color over a long warm-season bloom period. This vigorous evergreen thrives in sunny, warm locations and can be trained along a trellis, fence, or arbor for a striking vertical accent.
Its trailing growth also makes it a great choice for hanging baskets, where the colorful stems can spill over the edges. Once established, it handles short dry periods well and brings dependable color to patios, entryways, and frost-free landscapes.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with at least 6 hours of direct sun and sharply draining soil. In frost free climates, plant directly in the ground, or in colder climates, use a container or hanging basket with ample drainage holes. Protect from frost and strong, cold winds. Bring indoors once fall temperatures are consistently 50°F.
2. Watering: Water deeply after planting, then allow the top few inches of soil to dry before watering again. Established plants tolerate brief dry periods and generally bloom best when not kept constantly wet. Check containers and hanging baskets more often during hot weather.
3. Pruning: Prune lightly after a flowering flush to control size and encourage branching. Remove dead or damaged stems as needed.
4. Fertilizing: Feed during spring and summer with a balanced or bloom-supporting fertilizer according to label directions. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can promote leafy growth at the expense of colorful bracts. Reduce or stop feeding during cool-weather dormancy.
