Silvery mottled foliage with ruffled edges
Beautifully mottled green, silvery-gray, and white foliage features gently ruffled edges, creating a distinctive accent. Its broad, patterned leaves brighten indoor spaces and bring rich texture to shaded patios or protected tropical landscapes.
This easygoing foliage plant works especially well as a container specimen or as part of a grouped display. Give it bright, indirect light and warm, humid conditions for the best color and growth. Keep it away from pets and children, as its sap is irritating if touched or ingested.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Use a container with drainage holes and a loose, well-draining indoor potting mix. Place it in bright, indirect light, avoiding intense afternoon sun. Outdoors, grow it only in warm, frost-free conditions with filtered shade.
2. Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Soak the soil thoroughly, let excess water drain, and never leave the container standing in water. Reduce watering during slower winter growth.
3. Pruning: Remove yellow or damaged leaves at their base as needed. Cut back tall or bare stems to encourage fuller growth. Wear gloves when pruning and wash tools afterward, since the sap can irritate skin.
4. Fertilizing: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Pause or reduce feeding in fall and winter.
