Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with well-drained soil and at least 6 hours of direct sunlight for the best results. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and place the rose in gently, backfilling with soil and watering thoroughly. Spread a 3" layer of mulch three feet around the plant, pulling it back a few inches from the base.
2. Watering: During the first growing season, water twice weekly, adjusting for soil type and local conditions. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. Once established, water deeply once a week.
3. Pruning: Prune in early spring when new growth begins to appear. Remove dead, weak, or crossing stems, shaping the plant to encourage good airflow.
4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced rose fertilizer in early spring and again in early to mid-summer.
