Rich purple blooms with classic charm
The Purple Rose Plant stands out with richly colored blossoms that bring depth and contrast to garden beds, borders, and patio containers. Its layered blooms and green foliage pair easily with pale flowers, silvery foliage, and other classic landscape plants.
It can also serve as a colorful and vibrant house plant when placed in a very bright, sunny location, though it generally performs best outdoors with good airflow. Plant it where its distinctive flowers can be enjoyed up close, such as near a walkway, porch, or seating area.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight and fertile, well-drained soil. Set it at the same depth it was growing in its container and allow enough space for airflow.
2. Watering: Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Apply water at the base to keep the foliage dry, and ensure container-grown plants drain freely.
3. Pruning: Remove faded flowers and any dead, damaged, or crossing stems. Complete heavier shaping in late winter or early spring before vigorous new growth begins.
4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced fertilizer formulated for flowering plants in early spring. Feed periodically during active growth according to label directions, stopping several weeks before the first expected frost.
