Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location that receives part to dappled shade, ensuring moist, acidic soil for optimal growth. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Gently place the shrub in the hole, ensuring it is level with the surrounding soil, and fill it back in, firming the soil. Water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. Spread a layer of mulch around the shrub to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
2. Watering: Water deeply and regularly, especially during dry spells. Water when the top 2" of soil dry out.
3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain its compact shape. Remove any dead or damaged branches to encourage healthy growth.
4. Fertilizing: In early spring, work fresh compost into the ground or apply an organic fertilizer to promote healthy growth.
