Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a spot with well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade for optimal growth. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep to accommodate the roots. Place the plant in the center of the hole so that the top of the rootball is level with the soil line. Backfill with soil and spread a 3” layer of mulch three feet around the shrub.
2. Watering: Water the shrub deeply at planting and keep the soil consistently moist during its first growing season. Once established, it will be more tolerant to dry conditions, needing deep watering once a week and more often in times of drought.
3. Pruning: Prune immediately after flowering in spring to remove dead, diseased, or crossing wood as needed.
4. Fertilizing: Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support growth and flowering. Follow package instructions for proper amounts based on the size of your shrub.
