A colorful reblooming delight for your garden
Looking for a shrub that brings vibrant colors and a long-lasting show to your landscape? This prolific rebloomer from the Bloomerang Series offers a stunning display of purple and pink blooms throughout the growing season. With each flower, you’ll witness a beautiful transition; sometimes bursting in bright purple tones, other times softly awash in pink, and even showcasing a harmonious blend of both. This visual feast not only adds charm but creates a captivating focal point in gardens and yards.
Ideal for borders, foundations, or even as a stand-alone showpiece, this shrub thrives in various settings. Its compact size makes it suitable for smaller spaces, while its ability to rebloom ensures your landscape remains vibrant long after traditional flowering plants have finished. Imagine sitting in your yard, surrounded by a palette of colors that shift with the seasons—the perfect backdrop for gatherings and quiet moments alike.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with well-draining, neutral to alkaline soil. Lilacs are intolerant of acidic soils and wet, compacted soils. Plant in full sun (at least 6 hours) for best bloom and health. Dig a hole that's twice the width of the root ball but no deeper. Place the shrub in the center and fill with soil, lightly tamping down to remove air pockets. Spread a 3" settled layer of mulch three feet around the plant. Water thoroughly to help settle the soil.
2. Watering: This shrub prefers consistent moisture, especially in its early growing stages. Water deeply and regularly during dry spells, ensuring the soil remains moist but not soggy. Once established, it will be more tolerant of drought.
3. Pruning: Pruning is not necessary for rebloom; however, it can create a tidier plant and regrowth for the second bloom of the season. Only prune after the first spring bloom, as pruning in fall or winter can remove the next spring's buds.
4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote healthy growth and prolific blooms. Avoid over-fertilization, as this can lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of flowers.
