Fragrant blossoms and sweet, juicy harvests

The Mediterranean Sweet orange tree brings year-round greenery, fragrant white blossoms, and superb fruit to sunny spaces. Its juicy, flavorful oranges are ideal for fresh eating, juicing, and sharing straight from the tree.

With its glossy foliage and rounded form, this citrus tree makes an attractive focal point in warm-climate yards and patios. In colder regions, grow it in a large container that can be moved indoors when temperatures drop.

Pollination Info

Mediterranean Sweet Orange Tree Pollination

Mediterranean Sweet Orange Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Mediterranean Sweet Orange Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. In colder climates, plant in a roomy container with drainage holes so it can be protected indoors during freezing weather.

2. Watering: Water deeply when the top 2 to 3 inches of soil feel dry. Keep young trees evenly moist while they establish, but avoid soggy soil. Container-grown trees may need more frequent watering during hot weather.

3. Pruning: Prune lightly in late winter or after fruiting to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Remove shoots growing from below the graft, and avoid heavy pruning that could reduce flowering and fruit production.

4. Fertilizing: Feed with a fertilizer formulated for citrus in spring and continue as directed through the growing season. Look for a blend containing micronutrients such as iron, magnesium, and manganese. Reduce or stop feeding during winter.
