Sweet, low-acid fruit with few seeds

The Jackson Grapefruit Tree produces delicious grapefruit with juicy, pale flesh, a mild sweetness, and less acidity than many traditional varieties. Its fruit typically has few seeds and ripens early in the grapefruit season, making it a pleasant choice for fresh eating and juicing.

Glossy evergreen foliage, fragrant white blossoms, and colorful fruit give this citrus tree year-round appeal. Plant it in a sunny, warm location as an attractive edible accent, or grow it in a large container where winters are cold.

Pollination Info

Jackson Grapefruit Tree Pollination

Jackson Grapefruit Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Jackson Grapefruit Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. In colder climates, use a large container that can be moved indoors before freezing weather.

2. Watering: Water deeply when the top 2 to 3 inches of soil feel dry. Keep young trees evenly moist while they establish, but avoid soggy soil. Container-grown trees may need more frequent watering during warm weather.

3. Pruning: Prune lightly in late winter or after harvest to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Remove shoots growing from below the graft, and avoid heavy pruning that reduces fruiting growth.

4. Fertilizing: Feed during the growing season with a fertilizer formulated for citrus, following label directions. Apply in several smaller feedings from spring through summer, and water thoroughly afterward.
