A beautiful springtime display in your garden

The Honey Tulip™ Magnolia is a standout choice for those looking to enhance their landscape with stunning blossoms. Introduced by the talented breeders Felix and Mark Jury, this tree features magnificent 6-inch honey gold flowers that bloom in early spring, creating a striking display reminiscent of tulips. Its goblet-shaped blooms fill the air with a delightful scent, making your garden a focal point during the blooming season.

Reaching a height of just 12 feet, this upright tree is perfect for smaller gardens. It fits beautifully within various planting schemes, providing both elegance and structure without overwhelming space. As an exciting addition to the magnolia family, the Honey Tulip™ not only elevates aesthetic appeal but also offers a wonderful habitat for pollinators in your yard.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a sunny location that allows for good drainage, as magnolias prefer their roots to stay relatively dry. Dig a hole that’s twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep, then backfill with the native soil. Spread a 3" settled layer of mulch three feet around the tree.

2. Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, particularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, it’s important to avoid overwatering; aim for deep watering once a week during dry spells.

3. Pruning: Light pruning is recommended to maintain the desired shape and remove any dead or crossing branches. Aim to perform pruning in late winter or early spring before new growth begins for the best results.

4. Fertilizing: Feed your Magnolia Honey Tulip™ with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring before new growth starts. Follow package instructions for amount and frequency to encourage robust growth and flowering.
