No-care white blooms for seasonal displays
This autumn bulb comes dipped in café mocha-colored wax, so it needs no soil, watering, or routine care while blooming. It is part of a collection with six wax color options and produces crisp white flowers suited to fall décor, Christmas gifting, or a simple table centerpiece.
Enjoy it yourself or give it as an easy, ready-to-display gift. After the final flowers fade, remove the wax and plant the bulb in a container, patio bed, or garden if the basal plate and roots are intact. Outdoor planting is best in frost-free climates; elsewhere, grow it in a pot that can be protected indoors.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. While the bulb is waxed and preparing to bloom, simply place it upright in a warm room with bright, indirect light. After flowering, carefully remove the wax and plant the bulb with its upper third above well-draining soil. Grow outdoors year-round only in frost-free areas.
2. Watering: Do not water the bulb while it is waxed. Once planted in soil, water lightly and allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the bulb soggy.
3. Pruning: Remove each flower stalk after its blooms fade, cutting near the top of the bulb. Keep healthy leaves in place so they can replenish the bulb, removing them only after they yellow naturally.
4. Fertilizing: Do not fertilize while the bulb is waxed. After planting and once leaves are actively growing, apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every two to four weeks.
