1. Upon arrival: Unpack your garland as soon as possible, removing it from the box and any plastic packaging. Garlands should be soaked in water for up to 24 hours to help with hydration before hanging. Trim a half inch off stem ends, then soak the entire garland in cool water; if this is not possible, trim and soak the cut ends. Allow the garland to air dry. Once dry to the touch, anti-desiccant sprays can be applied per package instructions. (Avoiding spraying anti-desiccants on junipers, cedars, and spruce, as this removes their natural waxy coating.) If you’re not ready to hang your garland quite yet, store it in a cool, dark place like a basement or refrigerator.

2. Outdoor Use: Weather, climate, and light exposure affect how long your garland lasts. Cool weather and shade will prolong the life of your garland. Outdoor garlands can last 2–8 weeks depending on your local conditions. Garlands will last longer in cold climates.

3. Indoor Use: Garlands can last up to three weeks indoors. Keep them away from direct sunlight, large windows, and heat sources to promote longevity. For safety reasons, always keep garlands away from open flames. Mist the cut ends and the needles every 1–2 days to keep the garland looking its best. Humidifiers can also be placed near garlands to help prevent their drying out.
