Early harvests with sweet, juicy flavor

Early-ripening fruit brings fresh citrus flavor to the garden sooner in the season. The juicy, sweet oranges are ideal for eating fresh or making juice, while fragrant white blossoms attract pollinators and add a pleasant scent.

Glossy evergreen foliage provides year-round color and makes this tree an attractive focal point, screen, or container specimen. Plant it in a warm, sunny location where it can receive plenty of light and protection from hard freezes.

Pollination Info

Early Gold Sweet Orange Tree Pollination

Early Gold Sweet Orange Trees are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Early Gold Sweet Orange Tree will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a site with full sun and well-drained soil, leaving enough room for the mature canopy. In colder climates, grow in a large container that can be moved indoors before freezing weather.

2. Watering: Water deeply after planting and regularly during the first growing season. Once established, water when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Avoid consistently soggy soil, and reduce watering during cooler months.

3. Pruning: Prune lightly after harvest or in early spring. Remove dead, damaged, crossing, or crowded branches, along with any shoots growing from below the graft. Avoid heavy pruning, which can reduce fruit production.

4. Fertilizing: Feed with a fertilizer formulated for citrus in spring and repeat during the growing season according to label directions. Container-grown trees may need more frequent, lighter applications. Avoid fertilizing late in the season when new growth could be vulnerable to cold.
