1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Dig a hole about twice as wide as the root ball and position the plant with the top of the root ball level with the surrounding ground. Backfill, water thoroughly, and add mulch without piling it against the stems.

2. Watering: Water deeply after planting and regularly during the first growing season. Once established, it tolerates short dry periods, but it should be watered during prolonged heat or drought. Avoid consistently wet or waterlogged soil.

3. Pruning: Little pruning is needed because it naturally maintains its slim form. Remove dead or damaged branches as needed, and lightly shape in late winter or early spring. Avoid cutting into old, bare wood, which may not produce new growth.

4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer formulated for evergreens in early spring if growth is weak or the soil is poor. Established plants in healthy soil often need little supplemental feeding.
